Overview
We are looking for a responsible and compassionate Kennel Staff teammate ; to contribute to the daily operations of our dog boarding and care facility. The ideal candidate must have strong teamwork skills, a passion for animals, tolerance for redundancy, lift up to 50 pounds, ability to go up and down ramps and/or stairs
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to day-to-day kennel operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all dogs.
- Monitor dog health, behavior, feeding schedules, and exercise routines.
- Adjust as needed to scheduling, training, and supervision.
- Maintain detailed records of dog check-ins, vaccinations, feeding, grooming, and medical requirements.
- Coordinate with veterinarians, groomers, kennel manager, drivers, and/or pet owners as needed.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding care instructions, medical updates, and facility policies.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Handle emergency situations with calmness and proper protocol.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders when required.
Requirements
- Prior experience in kennel management, animal care, or veterinary assistant role preferred.
- Strong understanding of dog behavior, breeds, and handling techniques.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced environment.
- Physically fit — must be comfortable walking, lifting, and handling dogs of all sizes.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and scheduling.
Preferred Skills
Customer service experience.
Certification in animal care, canine handling, or related field.
First aid knowledge for pets.
